H2O provides shelter and Christian support to homeless youth who have experienced or aged out of the Louisiana Foster Care System.
Eligibility
Young adults aging out of foster care must be willing to agree to the conditions noted in the program contract which will prepare the resident to live independently when they exit the program.
What We Do
H2O comes alongside youth and young adults to provide housing and other support services as they transition from foster care to adulthood. In addition to safe, stable housing, we provide trauma-informed therapeutic counseling, networks to build a permanent support system, access to resources, and life-skills training.
Each young person is unique, with unique needs and dreams. To ensure a smooth transition, each youth IS:
● Mentored as they develop an individualized life plan to pursue their own spiritual, physical, financial, educational, and career goals.
● Offered opportunities to grow through personal discovery experiences like cultural events, sports, recreational activities, and hobbies.
● Encouraged to engage with their community and build civic responsibility through advocacy, service, and leadership opportunities.
Location:
The transitional home is located in Tangipahoa Parish. To help prepare them for life on their own, residents attend Life Skills classes every week.
